The Killing Fields - Staged Reading

  • Shout House 210 SE Madison Street Portland, OR United States (map)

The Killing Fields, by Anya Pearson, is a riveting new drama about love, loss, and the true price of vengeance. Set in 1980's East Oakland, at the height of the crack epidemic, it reimagines the Ancient Greek play, Agamemnon, through an African American lens. Combining poetic language with great humor and heart, The Killing Fields, is a fresh take on one of history's most epic tales.

Reservations for our reading of Anya Pearson's play, The Killing Fields, are live! The reading is free to attend, but space is limited, so making a reservation is highly recommended. Save your seats here.

The reading will take place at Shout House (210 SE Madison Street), under the Hawthorne Bridge, on Friday, February 1st and Saturday, February 2nd. Both performances will begin at 7:30 PM, and will be followed by a post-show discussion, moderated by our interns, Kyle Riper and Jenna Cady.

The reading will feature the acting talents of Kisha Jarrett, Bobby Bermea, Briana Ratterman, Kayla Kelly, Jennifer Lannier, Shalanda Sims, Prentice Onayemi, and Johnathan Thompson.
